Working in both digital media and water-based media, she creates a variety of digital artwork, abstract acrylic paintings, landscape paintings, and mixed-media works on paper that combine fluid washes, textured brushwork, and layers of color and mark making driven by symbol and narrative to reflect on social and natural phenomena.

As reported by Glamour, Denise’s work has been selected as “one of the five home goods worth investing in” by the design partners at New York City interior design firm Cullman & Kravis, a firm named to Architectural Digest’s AD 100 list.

Throughout her career, Denise has enjoyed collaborating with individuals and organizations that apply creativity and innovation to uniquely raise the profiles of talented emerging artists, designers, and curators, while bringing art and design to diverse audiences.  She has conducted ethnographic-based museum visitor research, with the goal of designing more effective and salient exhibitions, at the Art Institute of Chicago, where she also trained in museum education practices and developed art education initiatives for youth and adults.  She has worked as assistant to art critic and scholar, Rosalind Krauss, and has coordinated graduate programs in Modern Art and Curatorial Studies at Columbia University, for which she developed curatorial opportunities for graduate students with art institutions such as the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation and the Whitney Museum of American Art.  She has served on the editorial board of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal, and as Guest Curator for NURTUREart Gallery in Brooklyn, NY.

Her artwork is held in collections worldwide.
